Bringing Workers Home Safe on World Day for Safety Every Day

Today, April 28 marks World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a global observance that reminds us of the fundamental right to a safe and healthy working environment. At Veriforce, this day is deeply aligned with our mission: to bring workers home safe every day.
The 2025 theme — the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) on workers’ safety and health — is both timely and deeply relevant. As industries across the globe embrace digital transformation, we’re also presented with powerful new tools to enhance safety outcomes. But with innovation comes responsibility: to ensure that technology not only drives efficiency, but also supports the health, well-being, and protection of the workforce.
At Veriforce, we’re already seeing how AI is shaping a safer future. For example, in contractor selection, predictive analytics can now assess safety history, compliance records, and environmental risk factors to help companies make smarter hiring decisions. While these tools don’t replace human judgment, they offer valuable insights that help prevent incidents.
Still, World Day for Safety and Health at Work serves as a reminder: safety must be prioritized year-round, not just one day a year. Safety isn’t a moment. It’s a mindset, built into every layer of an organization.
April 28 is also observed as a remembrance day, known as Workers Memorial Day in the US, marking the anniversary of the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Act; and Workers’ Day of Mourning in Canada. A solemn day to remember and honor all those who have been injured, become ill, or lost their lives as a result of workplace incidents. As we look toward a safer future, we also pause to reflect on the lives that have been forever changed and reaffirm our commitment to preventing further tragedy.
To support this year’s theme, we hosted an event for all our teams with internal guest speakers sharing how we’re applying AI and digital innovation to drive safer, more adaptive work environments, both through our solutions and in how we work.
This panel is part of a broader set of activities running throughout Veriforce in celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work. We’re creating space to learn, engage, and continue strengthening our safety culture.
While this day helps spotlight the importance of safety, our commitment to protecting workers is year-round. Because no matter the role, location, or industry, every worker deserves to come home safe.
