Permit-Required Confined Space

Our Permit-Required Confined Space: Entrant/Attendant/Supervisor course blends classroom training with hands-on activities to ensure workers are prepared to face the hazards found in permit-required confined spaces.

Provide industry-leading training to prevent one of the costliest and deadliest OSHA violations.

Our Permit-Required Confined Space: Entrant/Attendant/Supervisor course blends classroom training with hands-on activities to ensure workers are prepared to face the hazards found in permit-required confined spaces. Students will learn:

  • Regulations of a confined space vs. a permit-required confined space
  • Hazards associated with confined spaces
  • Role and responsibilities of the entrant, attendant, and supervisor
  • Engineering and administrative controls
  • Atmospheric monitoring
  • Required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Rescue and emergency services associated with confined spaces

Veriforce’s Permit-Required Confined Space training addresses critical safety issues. From 2021-2022, 94% of confined space-related incidents were fatalities. In 2021, OSHA imposed two of the most significant fines on employers, both involving fatalities in confined spaces. There have also been over 1,000 confined space fatalities within a recent 8-year period. Lack of proper training presents a safety risk for employees and may result in OSHA violations and fines.

NOTE: This course does not include the critical hands-on portion of the permit-required confined space training requirement or additional training required for rescue and emergency services as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.146(k)(2) for personal protective equipment (PPE), rescue duties, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and simulated rescue operations.
