Louie Werderich | President
Louie Werderich is the President of Veriforce, LLC., based in Spring, Texas. Veriforce assists energy operators and contractors in tracking operator qualifications. Since the purchase of Veriforce in 2009, Mr. Werderich has grown the company into one of the nation’s leading compliance service providers. He has expanded services for safety, drug and alcohol, and hosted training programs while continuing to find ways to provide cost effective solutions to clients. In keeping pace with market place demands, he is responsible for fusing business knowledge with modern technology to create a single source solution with a value far beyond what is currently available elsewhere.
Mr. Werderich is the former President of a technology based call center located in Houston, Texas. The company began with one location and a small staff. Via 12 acquisitions and extensive organic growth, he grew the company to include three locations in two states with over 80 United States employees and 10 international agents in Bolivia and the Philippines. In 2008 he sold the company to a venture capital group.
Prior to starting his own business, Mr. Werderich began his career as a Commercial Lender for Chase, where he gained knowledge in private company financing and acquisition strategies. He is currently a member of the American Petroleum Institute, American Gas Association, Southern Gas Association, Texas Gas Association, Louisiana Gas Association, and the California Independent Petroleum Association. He is an active participant for various INGAA Task Committees, ASME B31Q, and a life member of the Greater Houston Partnership. He has served on the board for the Screamfree Institute and actively supports the Angeltree, Mountain Child, and Casa de Esperanza/House of Hope foundations.
Mr. Werderich earned a BBA in Finance from the University of Houston. Attended a summer program at the University of Manchester England where he studied companies in England, France, Brussels, and Russia and earned an MBA from the University of Houston in International Business and Finance.
Larry Madison | Senior Vice President of Sales
Larry Madison is a highly skilled professional in Operator Qualification (OQ), OSHA Regulations, safety, quality assurance, training, and management. Larry joined Veriforce in September of 2009 as Senior Vice President of Sales.
Larry has 14 years’ experience in the fields of strategic business planning and development, sales, product/sales training, financial reporting and operations.
Larry served three years in the United States Army at Ft. Benning, Georgia. During his service, he received several military awards, including two Army Achievement Medals. Larry served in Operation Desert Shield in Iraq and in Operation Hope in Somalia.
Larry is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BBA in Economics.
Todd Cash | Compliance Director
Todd Cash is a specialist and highly skilled professional in regulatory interpretation and developing programs to assure compliance with federal and/or state regulations. Todd joined Veriforce as Director of Compliance in 2009.
Todd has 25 years’ experience in the fields of training, management, operations, and regulatory compliance and has worked with numerous regulatory requirements including: OSHA, Nuclear, FDA, ISO, PHMSA, and state regulations. While with Veriforce Todd has been responsible for the development of an ongoing management/update of written OQ programs. Conducting annual OQ program review meetings with each client and participates in regulatory inspections of clients (HQ and Field). Todd is a member of the ASME B31Q Committee and attends industry meetings and initiatives related to OQ. He provides client support in adding and revising covered tasks and/or evaluation criteria. Todd directly interfaces with state and federal regulatory agencies and provides technical OQ support, guidance, and oversight to our client’s staff. He also monitors current issues and developments related to state and federal enforcement of OQ in addition to keeping all stakeholders aware of the requirements of new regulations as they evolve and the understanding of alternative approaches to OQ program management in the pipeline industry.
From 1985 to 1995 Todd served in the U.S. Navy where he managed and evaluated the operation of a submarine nuclear reactor and steam operated electrical power generation plant. He conducted classroom courses in advanced mechanical theory at the Navy Nuclear Power School and developed in-depth lesson plans, training aids, laboratory procedures, and comprehensive exams which were approved by Naval Reactors.
Todd is a graduate of Thomas Edison State College with a BSBA in Human Resource Management and ASAST Nuclear Engineering Technology.
Stephen Covell | VeriSource Product Manager
Stephen Covell is a Pipeline regulatory compliance professional specializing in the design of implementation, maintenance, and training on systems used by Pipeline Operators and Contractors. Stephen joined Veriforce in 2005 where he quickly advanced to becoming Veriforce Pipeline Operator Liaison & Drug & Alcohol Compliance Manager.
In 2005 Stephen developed a new system for Veriforce for processing and reporting operator qualification evaluator authorizations and served as Contractor Liaison, working to assist Contractors with issues encountered in the process of meeting various Operator defined requirements. In 2006 Stephen designed and implemented a system for reporting Contractor drug and alcohol information. He also provides guidance on PHMSA drug and alcohol regulatory compliance for Pipeline Operators and Contractors including federal audit support and review of drug and alcohol policies to ensure compliance with 49 CFR Parts 40 & 199. Stephen has collaborated with Operator clients to design, implement, and maintain systems to meet their requirements. Systems include an online training and testing proctoring system, Contractor insurance monitoring system, safety observation reporting system, and a welding qualification monitoring system. Stephen is highly skilled at grasping the complexities of an issue, being able to develop solutions, and achieve buy-in from stakeholders.
From 1997 to 2002 Stephen served in the United States Army where he was responsible for the training, health, and welfare of soldiers from various Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) improving overall readiness and operating ability in the Motor Pool. He installed Safety programs in the Motor Pool maintaining an accident free work environment, and oversaw training of subordinates on Common Task Testing (CTT).
Stephen is a graduate of The University of Houston with a B.A. in Finance and has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Sam Houston State University.
Tracy Messenger | Senior Compliance Auditor
Tracy Messenger is an expert in Operator Qualification (OQ), auditing, safety, quality assurance, training, and management. Tracy joined Veriforce in 2010 as Senior Compliance Auditor.
Tracy has 22 years experience in the fields of training, management, operations, and regulatory compliance
While with Veriforce Tracy has been responsible for the development of OQ Common Covered Task training modules and a DATIA Certified Designated Employer Representative (DER) training program. He manages Compliance Auditing for Veriforce and conducts Evaluator, OQ, and Drug & Alcohol audits. Tracy is a certified instructor and conducts Evalutor Training and DATIA DER classes.
Tracy retired from the United States Air Force after serving 20 years as Senior NCO in December 2009. From 1989 to 2009 Tracy served as a Surveillance Inspector and Quality Assurance and Safety Specialist ensuring/enforcing DOD, DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. He managed Security and Control of assets in excess of $11 billion, foreign military sales, Defense Re-utilization and Marketing Service (DRMS), Surplus Property. Tracy has a proven ability to lead others in high stress and demanding environments.
Tracy is a graduate of the American Military University with an Associate of Arts-General Studies and Community College of the Air Force with an Associate in Applied Science.
Jessica Renard | Contractor Liaison / Trainer
Jessica Renard is an expert in contractor and operator pipeline compliance. Jessica joined Veriforce in March, 2007, where she quickly excelled as a Compliance Auditor. Jessica helped to create and implement Veriforce third-party auditing programs, creation of procedural documentation for reporting and audit results. While Jessica managed compliance auditing for Veriforce, she also implemented programs for performance-based qualification and conformance with DOT requirements.
In 2009 Jessica became the Contractor Liaison for Veriforce. She is responsible for the day-to-day guidance for both contractor and pipeline operator clients. She is a Certified Designated Employer Representative (DER) Train-the-Trainer and responsible for overseeing Veriforce Instructor-led Admin. Training, Instructor-led Evaluator Authorization Training, and Instructor-led DER Training.
From June, 2002, to March, 2007, Jessica was the Operator Qualification Coordinator / DER for Sheehan Pipeline Construction Company where she managed compliance documentation, site qualification processes and overseeing task assignments and implementation.
Jessica is a graduate from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science.
Jim Stratton | Safety Manager
Jim Stratton is a specialist and highly skilled professional in Environmental, Health and Safety. Jim joined Veriforce in 2012 as Safety Manager.
Jim has 15 years’ experience in development, implementation, training and monitoring of safety programs. At Veriforce Jim is responsible for the health and safety program development and maintenance, auditing and monitoring policies and procedures, EMR, updating all programs to reflect the most current OSHA, DOT, PHMSM, NFPA, and ANSI safety and health regulations while maintaining Veriforce’s safety record keeping system, conducting safety audits and submitting inspection reports.
Prior to joining Veriforce Jim’s experience included Environmental, Health & Safety Management expertise in EPC, EPCM, Client Agent and Joint Venture projects in diverse industries including, Aerospace, Chemical, Construction, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Refinery, and Technology. Jim also has extensive experience in Process Safety Management evaluation and compliance. His work history provides a valuable combination of safety, insurance, and risk management work. He is seasoned at working with owners and regulators as well as engineers and crews.
Jim is currently working towards his BS in Occupational Health and Safety from Eastern Kentucky University.
Kristin Covell | Quality Assurance Manager
Kristin Covell is the Quality Assurance Manager overseeing the Data Entry and Document Auditing Departments. Kristin is a specialist in Quality Assurance / Quality Control and checks all Veriforce systems prior to launch. Kristin is responsible for the accuracy of all data in the VeriSource database and the retrieval of data for Operator clients during audits.
Kristin has over 15 years’ experience and has been with Veriforce since its inception. She developed Veriforce’s first OQ database and is responsible for designing several VeriSource and internal management systems.
Kristin is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a BA in Education.
Mehmet Yasar | IT Manager
Mehmet Yasar is a highly skilled professional in Information Technology (IT) Systems. Mehmet joined Veriforce in 2005 as a Software Engineer.
In 2007 Mehmet was promoted to IT Manager where he coordinates and directs all technology needs for Veriforce. He is responsible for Veriforce IT management, projects, maintenance, software products and mainframe software development.
Mehmet came to United State in 2003 and worked for several companies as an IT Consultant before joining Veriforce. While working with Texas Petrochemical LP he built an Oracle GL interface for merging Oracle output files to create excel files within ADP Interface and Oracle Financial 11i General Ledger module.
Mehmet earned a BS in Physics from Gazi University, Ankara / Turkey.
Debbie Midgley | Training Manager
Debbie Midgley is the Training Manager specializing in the design and implementation of the Veriforce Evaluator Course (both instructor-led and computer based), the Common Covered Task Training Guides and online training, and the new Pipeline Specific Safety Training Courses. Debbie also instructs the Train-the-Trainer, Instructor-led Evaluator both Operators and Contractors, and Veriforce Administrator Training Courses.
Debbie has over 30 years’ experience in the training industry. Her experience ranges from safety, environmental, health, as well as the oil and gas industry.
Debbie has been with Veriforce since its inception. She has been part of the Veriforce team helping it grow and designing new products for our clients. She helped design the system allowing Veriforce to offer computer based training to contractors in Veriforce from their pipeline Operators as well as the newly implemented learning management system (LMS). The new LMS will allow Veriforce customers to upload their own training courses as well as track training that has been assigned to their employees.
